What is house edge in Craps for every single Craps bet?

Ever played craps, online or off? Then you know that despite the fact that the board looks a bit confusing, it’s actually a really easy game to play. The thing about craps, though, is that there are so many betting possibilities, even a seasoned player might generally stick to just a few types of bets.

Most table games only have a few betting opportunities. For example, in Blackjack, you simply place your chips down and hope for the best. Yes, you’ve got the opportunity to do things like double down, split, or surrender, but the house edge doesn’t really fluctuate all that much, unless you’re talking about playing insurance or placing an extra bet at a bonus table.

But in craps, every bet comes with a different house edge. Here’s a look at how the odds differ from bet to bet.

Pass Bet

This is the most basic bet you can make in craps. If you decide to ignore all other types of bets, the pass bet should be your go-to wager. The pass bet is the one you make on a come out roll. If the marker on the come out roll is black, it’s time to bet. If the shooter tosses a 7 or 11, you win even money. If they toss a 2, 3, or 12, you lose. If they toss any other number, that number becomes the point for the game.

The house edge for the pass bet is 1.41%.

Don’t Pass Bet

If you don’t have a problem going against the table, drop a don’t pass bet and hope for the best. It’s basically the opposite of the pass bet, so if the come out roll is a 2 or 3, you win. If it’s a 7 or 11, you lose. But because a 12 leads to a push and because there are only two numbers that lead to a loss, the house edge is lower.

The house edge for the don’t pass bet is 1.36%.

Odds Bet

Like side bets? Then you should consider an odds bet. If the number you bet on is thrown before a seven, you win. You’ll get paid 2:1 on 4 and 10, 3:2 on 5 and 9, and 6:5 on 6 and 8. And unlike side bets in other games, the odds are fairly amazing.

The house edge for an odds bet is 0%.
